Student Research Assistant (8h/week, 6 months fixed position)
Our research laboratory at the department of Neurology is looking for motivated Master student to support our ongoing project. The project is focused on investigating human and murine organotypic brain cultures as comparative 3D models for future translational neuroscience studies. Planned student activities include participation in slice culture maintenance, immunofluorescence staining, microscopy based data acquisition, and optimization of histological workflows for brain slice analysis, depending on the student’s experience.
Requirements:
- Student is currently enrolled at JKU Master study (Molecular biology, Biological Chemistry, or similar)
- Solid experience in the laboratory and ability to independently perform experiments, especially – qPCR, RNA isolation, cell culture, and immunofluorescent staining.
Student will be able to gain practical work experience along their studies and contribute their skills and knowledge to the research project. Salary: € 2759,20 (IIIa, full-time, from January 2026). Planned starting date: October/November 2026.
